Welcome to The Barn, Daylesford. Created by renowned chef and Slow Food heavy, Mary Ellis, who brought us Liberty House and Cliffy’s, as a home and a place to treat friends to long lunches and delicious dinners. From the llama fur throw on the fireside couch to the big red AGA in the kitchen, this is sumptuous country living for finicky folk from the city.
Set in an extensive vegie garden enlivened by quirky
local sculptures and objets de galvo, this gorgeously appointed
VIP B&B was
created within an enormous century-old barn and accessorised one striking
piece at a time.
Designed for bon vivants who like
to relax with food and wine, The Barn’s kitchen is fitted with
a gas-fired AGA slow combustion stove, dishwasher and restaurant-sized
preparation areas, while the indoor dining table and outdoor dining
area each seat 12 comfortably.
Floor-heated throughout, The Barn is ideal for two
couples,
offering two sitting/chatting/reading/drinking
areas, one with fireplace ...
One bath, two showers, three lavatories...
And, of course, an ample supply of linen and towels. |

The Barn is located behind the legendary Cliffy’s Emporium
in Raglan St. and enjoys an almost symbiotic relationship with this
notably tasty establishment.
